Jesus shows them his wounds. They're transformed, like coal becoming a diamond.
Now they all know for sure. it is Jesus.
It hits them all at the same time, and the hushed room breaks into wild rejoicing. "He's alive! He took on death and won! He did it!"
They shout, burst into smiles, pound each other on the back, and clap their hands like little children. The greatest battle of all has been won. It's over. When you die, you live.
Whatever is going on in your life, you should treat yourself for a couple of minutes to the absolute exhilaration going on in this room. It's the big one. Death. It's over. The Lord won, and he won it for all of us.
