We are sons and daughters of God.
We really are.
Jesus called us his brothers and sisters. We are made in the image and likeness of God, who is like a father and like a mother to us. That means we must "look like" God in some sense, as children look like their parents.
And we have to act like God.
We have received God's spirit, and we have God's life pulsating within us. That's why Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. Let you light shine before others."
We need to remind ourselves of that, not now and then, but every day. We can choose to let our light shine ... or we can choose not to.
We have God's life in us ... and each day we need to live it.
It may not make us famous. It may not make us rich. But is will make us happy ... to be who we really are.
Lord, today we're going to do whatever it is you want me to do.
Our faith is in you.
Use our time, talent and treasure.
Nothing will be impossible.
