You think a lot of thoughts at a time when someone dies, and these thoughts go in all directions.
You think about the person who has died ... and you think about yourself and your own death.
You are going to die some day. The statistics on death are still the same - one death per person. And, just like the infant in the womb who doesn't want to be born, the human being in the world doesn't want to die. You don't want to die.
But, you know, this is the way we come to a richer and fuller life: through birth, and through death.
Jesus went through death to the other side and is still alive. Mary Magdalene announced that incredible news to his companions and, at first, they didn't believe her. It's still difficult to believe it at times.
You think a lot of thoughts when someone dies. You think about the implications of the belief you take for granted most of the time: Life after death.
