Here's a question you may seldom think to ask: Is your life moving towards God ... or away from God?
It may be that you generally think only of the pieces of your life - your job, your family, your social life, your problems, your health - and never think of it as a whole.
What about the fundamental direction of your life as a whole? Is it moving toward God? Is it moving away from God? Is it just drifting?
For sure it's moving somewhere, intentionally or unintentionally.
If you want a ship to go one course, you point the bow in the direction you want to go.
That's why stewardship emphasizes the need to give the first fruits to God, not the leftovers. If up front you give some of your time, talent and treasure to God, then the bow of your ship is set on the course you want to sail.
Back to that intriguing question: What is the fundamental direction of your life?
Is it moving toward God?
It is it moving away from God?
Is it more or less drifting?
