In the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene, during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the desert. (Luke 3:1-2)
All four Gospel writers agree that Jesus died on a Friday, which was either Passover itself (Matthew, Mark and Luke), or the day before Passover (John).
The only dates between 28 and 33 A.D. on which the Passover or the day before Passover could have occurred on a Friday are the years 30 or 33. Most scholars, calculating that Jesus began his ministry in the year 28, says that he died in the year 30.
In fact, in his book, "Death of the Messiah," the late Scripture scholar Fr. Raymond Brown goes as far to say April 7, 30 A.D.
