In 2013, U.S. Catholic magazine informally surveyed its readers on their Christmas spirit.
While respondents acknowledged the specialness of the Advent and Christmas seasons, 27 percent also said that they didn't totallly appreciate Advent because they were so busy. Another 18 percent admitted they actually dreaded the Christmas rush.
What helps to keep the Advent/Christmas season joyful and meaningful?
Time with family and family traditions ... and keeping the reason for the season in mind. Nintety-four percent of those surveyed said that going to Mass was their favorite Christmas tradition, and 88 percent said that they usually diplay a Nativity scene or creche in their home.
