What happens when we die?
We go to the Lord.
What's it like to go to the Lord?
We may not have all the details, but the Gospel reassures us that the Lord is kind and merciful. See how the Lord is pictured in this Gospel passage. The servants wanted to go out into the field and pull up the weeds. But the master (i.e. the Lord) says, "Oh, let them grow together. If you pull up the weeds, you might hurt the wheat. Let them go for now. I will make it work out in the end."
We've all got weeds in our lives. Some we put there ourselves. Some are there because of other people. Some just seem to turn up. We're not pure wheat.
But, with the Lord's help, it can all work out in the end.
What happens when we die?
We may now know exactly but we do know this: we go to the Lord.
And the Lord is kind and merciful.
