When Jesus is talking about "you of little faith," that's us, the people who claim to have faith. He wasn't talking to pagans. It's what we as people of faith are to believe we are called to do.
God will provide.
Everything we have comes from God.
And what does God ask of us in return? To trust that God will provide. To trust that God created us to do something as part of God's plan for the world and to trust that God will provide us the means for us to do it. To trust that we are called to do something beautiful for God.
Today, when various prospects for employment are laid out to college graduates, choices and possibilities aren't necessarily presented to them in terms of discovering what God created them to be, what God created them to do. They're only presented in terms of upward mobility, salary, ranges, and prestige. It's a distorted view.
What is God asking of you?
And how can you do it?
God, the great provider of everything you have, will let you know.
